The British pound strengthened against the other major currencies in the Asian session on Wednesday.
The pound rose to an 8-day high of 185.44 against the yen, from yesterday’s closing value of 184.42.
Against the U.S. dollar, the euro and the Swiss franc, the pound edged up to 1.5404, 0.7258 and 1.5091 from yesterday’s closing quotes of 1.5392, 0.7273 and 1.5068, respectively.
If the pound extends its uptrend, it is likely to find resistance around 189.00 against the yen, 1.55 against the greenback, 0.71 against the euro and 1.52 against the franc.
