The Japanese yen showed weakness across the board in late Asian deals on Wednesday.
The yen slumped to a 6-day low of 87.05 against the aussie and a 5-day low of 143.67 against the pound around 1:55 am ET. On the downside, the yen may test support levels at 144.8 against the pound and 87.70 versus the aussie. At yesterday’s close, the yen was worth 143.20 against the pound and 86.89 against the aussie.
The yen slipped to a 1-week low of 93.84 against the Canadian dollar by 2:05 am ET from previous day’s closing quote of 93.40. On the downside, the yen may find support around the 94.40 level.
The yen also declined to 87.37 against the Swiss franc and 125.30 against the euro around 2:00 am ET from previous highs of 86.92 and 124.66, respectively hit earlier in the Asian session. The yen closed yesterday’s trading at 125.25 against the euro and 87.27 against the Swiss franc.
The yen also traded lower at 93.27 against the US dollar by 2:05 am ET, compared to 93.23 hit late New York Tuesday. The greenback-yen pair is presently quoted at 93.22.
The yen also reached a low of 66.45 against the NZ dollar by 2:05 am ET from an early Asian session high of 66.03. The kiwi-yen pair that closed yesterday’s deals at 66.39 is presently quoted at 66.43.
